Play-testing Observations (Sunday 15th)
- Game 1: 3 children (girls) 1 parent
- skipped straight to setting up. (parent looked shitty)
- playing cautiously, not sure about what to do (beginning)
- forgetting to follow the lines
- kids might not have understood without parents involvement
- completely understood the concept of depositing fruit in the nest
- feeling genuinely hurt when losing points
- confused about having kakapo and cat tokens on the same space
- 15 mins - no stored fruit yet, points lost. 20 to high?
- keep reaching for the instructions
- taking cats of each turn, before replacing them again
- forgetting whos nest is whos, but understand they cannot share
- strategy emerging - helping each other plan out moves to get the most points
- having fun, laughing
- "what happens when the cat stays in the same place"
- see the value in safe spots - late game
- may not have know you can deposit at any time
- Game 2: 3 boys, 1 girl, 1 parent
- 1 player nominated themselves to read the instructions all the way through
- understood the deposit mechanic very easily
- parent helping with explaining
- understood the moving mechanic
- understood the numbers on the nodes
- lack of direction regarding being trapped causing anger
- decided you just had to pass the nest to deposit instead of going inside
- youngest member playing banker.
- "dooooooooooom"
